Toronto - TRCA is holding a public information session on the Tommy Thompson Park master plan implementation project on November 28, 2007.  The public is invited to come and learn about what has been accomplished to date and what activities are scheduled for the year ahead.
Toronto - Members of the public are invited to view the plans for the upcoming expansion and relocation of Cliffcrest Branch by participating in a community open house on Tuesday, December 4, 2007.
Toronto - By air, sea and land, the Grey Cup Trophy marches back to Toronto in style after a 15 year absence. The 2007 Grey Cup Committee, City of Toronto, Canadian Football League and Department of National Defence are hosting a media event to kickoff the 2007 Grey Cup Festival, with the delivery of Canada’s oldest trophy for Canada’s largest annual sporting event.
Toronto - Two hundred Guides and Cubs will earn their First Aid badges at Toronto Emergency Services (EMS) Headquarters on Saturday, November 17.  Volunteers aged 14-25 from the 1st Downsview Medical Venturers and Rovers (MedVents) will lead the participants through seven topics.
Toronto - Santa Claus arrives in Toronto this Sunday for the annual Santa Claus Parade, and the TTC is providing extra service and a great bargain for families and groups attending the parade.  For just $9.00, a TTC Day Pass provides unlimited one day travel for a group of up to six people, maximum two adults over 19 years of age.
Toronto - Cavalcade of Lights neighbourhood lighting celebrations will be taking place this weekend.  Toronto Hydro - Electric System will also be offering Toronto residents one free set of energy-efficient LED festive lights in exchange for two sets of old incandescent (traditional) seasonal lights (while quantities last/some restrictions apply).

41st annual Cavalcade of Lights

Toronto - The 41st annual Cavalcade of Lights, presented by Scotiabank, illuminates Nathan Phillips Square with a lighting display by renowned designer Brian Gluckstein in partnership with the Bay and with financial and marketing support from Tourism Toronto.
Toronto - GO Transit will be collecting spare change to donate to the United Way on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 during morning and evening rush hours (6:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.).
Toronto - Mayor David Miller has proclaimed November 16 as Louis Riel Day in the City of Toronto to acknowledge that the Métis People are recognized in the Constitution Act 1982, as one of Canada’s Aboriginal peoples with a homeland across Canada. Louis Riel Day is commemorated each year in Toronto with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall and various community events.
