Toronto - The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance locating a wanted person.  Raymond Horan, 37, is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for Breach of Parole.
Toronto - Hopefully we have seen our last blast of winter snow. It’s time to tune our cars and minds to spring driving.  There will be lots of water on our roadways due to the thawing mountains of snow. The melting snow, mixed with oil on our roads, can become very slippery. Motorists are reminded to slow down in wet weather.
Toronto - On Saturday, March 29, 2008, officers from 22 Division arrested Dr. Eleazar Noriega, 63, of Toronto.  It is alleged that on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, the accused sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl while conducting an examination.

TTC-Union Negotiations

Toronto - TTC Management is working with Ontario Ministry of Labour staff to assist in the bargaining process and help the negotiating parties achieve the shared objective of a fair deal.
Toronto - With the City's Executive Committee reviewing the proposed 2008 Operating Budget today, the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) is calling for City Councillors to immediately begin to fulfill their commitment to roll-back the Toronto Land Transfer Tax.
Toronto - The City of Toronto is hosting public open houses to present the highlights of the Toronto Walking Strategy - a plan to make Toronto a great walkable city.  The open houses will take place on: Tuesday, March 25, Thursday, April 3 and Monday, April 7.
Toronto - Full and part-time students at the University of Toronto's Scarborough campus voted in a referendum this past week on whether to participate in the TTC's U-Pass program.  More than 2300 students voted, with 73 per cent turning the U-Pass down, with 27 per cent voting in favour.
Toronto - On Thursday February 7, 2008, members of the 12 Division Major Crime Unit became aware of two suspects who were allegedly involved in the manufacturing and distribution of fraudulent TTC tickets.
Toronto - The conservation authorities in the GTA and Golden Horseshoe Area remind the public of the dangers that exist on our streams, rivers, ponds and lakes during spring breakup.
Toronto - The Toronto Transit Commission will be taking action to tow vehicles parked on TTC streetcar tracks.  The TTC is working with City of Toronto Parking Enforcement Officers, and vehicles that impede the operation of streetcars will be tagged and towed away.
