Toronto - The Toronto Transit Commission, along with Toronto Fire Services, is conducting emergency exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency planning.  The exercises will begin on Tuesday, September 11th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will conclude on Friday, September 28th.
Toronto - Ontario Minister of the Environment Laurel Broten has approved a new "Class" Environmental Assessment (EA) process for municipal transit projects that will help streamline the approval process for major transit infrastructure improvements in Toronto.
Toronto - The Toronto Transit Commission approved a fare increase to take effect in November, 2007.  Beginning, November 4th, current tickets may be used until December 4, 2007 with the additional fare cost.
Toronto - A TTC fare increase takes effect on November 4, 2007.  The November Adult Metropass will be sold at the new price of $109, beginning October 24th. The TTC Adult Weekly Pass will be sold at the new price of $32.25 beginning on November 1st.
Toronto - Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers teamed up with Grade 5 and 6 students from Davisville Public School, to launch the Toronto Royal Canadian Legion's annual TTC Poppy Campaign. A kick off event was held at the Collector's Level at Davisville Station.
Toronto - On Sunday, November 11th - Remembrance Day - decorated Canadian war and peacekeeping veterans will be able to ride the TTC for free.  Veterans are required to show their service medals/ribbons to receive free access to TTC buses, streetcars, subway and SRT.
Toronto - The TTC encourages everyone to take the Better Way to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair from November 2nd to the 11th.
Toronto - Next year, the TTC will begin a 3-year construction project which will result in a wide range of improvements to both Kipling and Islington Stations. A Public Open House for these projects will be held on November 7, 2007.

Toronto - A ceremony was held on November 6, 2007 at Toronto Archives, to officially swear in eleven new Transit Special Constables to the Toronto Transit Commission.

Toronto - The Toronto Transit Commission and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 have reached an out of court settlement in connection with an application filed by the TTC against the transit union following the job action on May 29, 2006.
