Thanks His Honour James K. Bartleman For Service To Ontario

Ottawa - Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty today welcomed David Onley's appointment as Ontario's 28 th Lieutenant Governor and thanked His Honour James K. Bartleman for his service to the province:

"David Onley, through his work as a journalist and as an advocate for the disabled, has dedicated himself to helping make our province a stronger and fairer society where everyone can be at their best.

His integrity will continue the proud legacy of service in the Office of Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. We're fortunate that so many committed people have fulfilled this role with dedication and a passion for engaging communities and helping people.

I also want to thank His Honour James K. Bartleman for representing our province with good grace and sound judgment. His commitment to promoting literacy among Aboriginal youth means that his legacy will be endless — he helped inspire young people to read, imagine and reach their full potential.

I have no doubt that Mr. Onley will represent our province with tremendous pride.

On behalf of our government, we look forward to working with Mr. Onley to serve the people of Ontario."
