Toronto - The Toronto Police Lacrosse team has challenged high schools in the GTA to friendly games of field lacrosse.

They want to promote positive interaction between police and the community, teamwork and the great sport of lacrosse. The team has played several games against high schools over the past three years, all with positive outcomes. The players and spectators enjoy the game and the kids will never have a better chance to “stick it” to the police on the field.

The Toronto Police lacrosse team was created four years ago by members of 42 Division in Scarborough. Since then, the team has participated in many charity fundraising games, high school challenges and tournaments. The team has played in tournaments in New York City and San Diego. Their biggest challenge will be going for the gold medal at the 2009 World Police and Fire Games in Vancouver.

If any organized lacrosse team wishes to challenge the Toronto Police lacrosse team to a game of field or box lacrosse, please contact Constable David Sawyer at 416-808-4300.
