On Monday, February 18, most City of Toronto services and operations will be closed for Family Day.

City services that occur 24/7, 365 days a year, such as Emergency Medical Services and Toronto Fire, will continue to operate on Family Day.

Parks, Forestry and Recreation will offer some recreation programs at City-operated facilities on Family Day. Signage will be posted at each facility in advance of Family Day to advise users of its availability. For a list of facilities that will be open this Monday, check the City’s website at www.toronto.ca/parks.

All Children’s Services child care centres will be closed, with the exception of individual home care providers, in which case parents should speak to the provider to confirm service.

For detailed information about the availability of City operations and services, see the Fact Sheet below.

The City of Toronto provides holidays for its employees in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. Family Day was approved by the provincial government in October, 2007.
