Free concerts continue at Nathan Phillips Square for Cavalcade of Lights

Toronto - The 41st annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Scotiabank continues for the next three Saturdays at Nathan Phillips Square. The square features the newly illuminated official Christmas tree and a new lighting display consisting of 300,000 dazzling LED lights, designed by Brian Gluckstein, in partnership with the Bay and with support from Tourism Toronto. Each evening will culminate in a fireworks display and ice skating to music by some of Toronto’s favourite DJs until 10 p.m.
December 1 7 p.m. - Suzie McNeil
A powerful and versatile artist with a magnetic stage presence and multi-instrumental and vocal talents. Her appearances as the last woman standing on 2005’s RockStar: INXS and in the hit stage production of “We Will Rock You” have made her a citizen of everywhere. Her debut album is “Broken & Beautiful.”
8 p.m. - Tomi Swick
This Juno-award Best New Artist winner’s beautiful voice and lilting melodies tell honest tales in his debut album, “Stalled Out in The Doorway.” More information:
9 p.m. - Fireworks and skating to music by DJ Alvaro C

Multi-generational influences mixed with reggae, jazz and rock from this Vancouver Island based singer/songwriter. Her debut album is “Keep Driving.”
8 p.m. - Jully Black
One of Canada’s most revered music stars whose rich, distinct voice delivers an infectious sense of joy. Her latest album is “Revival.”
9 p.m. - Fireworks and skating to music by DJ Tricky Moreira
December 15 7 p.m. - In-Flight Safety
2007 East Coast Music Award winners deliver soaring atmospherics, plaintive lyrics and sweet-as-honey melodies. Their latest album is “the coast is clear.” More information: www.inflightsafety.ca
8 p.m. - The Golden Dogs
Energetic, adrenaline-charged, infectious songs complemented by rhythmic melodies from this Toronto-based pop-rock band. More information:
