Toronto - There is one special event this weekend in Toronto that all residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy. Businesses in the affected areas are open to pedestrian traffic, but some roads will be closed to motorists.

The public is encouraged to take public transit as a more affordable and faster means of getting to their destinations.

The Santa Claus Parade
Bloor St. W., from Christie St. to Ossington Ave., will be closed Sunday, November 18 from 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the set-up and formation area for the parade.

The parade route includes a number of full road and lane closures from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 18 as follows:

  • Bloor St. W., from Christie St. to Queen’s Park
  • Queen’s Park/University Ave., from Bloor St. W. to Queen St. W. (including Queen’s Park Cres.)
  • Queen St. W., from University Ave. to Yonge St.
  • Yonge St., from Queen St. to Front St.
  • Front St. E., from Yonge St. to Church St.

Front St. E., from Church St. to Jarvis St., will also be closed on Sunday, November 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate the dispersal of the parade.
