Toronto - Toronto Public Library's annual Young Voices Writers Conference, Saturday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at North York Central Library (5120 Yonge Street) will give Toronto youth an opportunity to hone their creative writing skills and to learn strategies for getting published.

The slate of authors and performers who will be presenting workshops include novelist Wayson Choy, songwriter Rosina Kazi, stand-up comedian/comedy writer Jean Paul, poet Jay Millar, author and editor Karen Krossing, do-it-yourself publishing expert and Toronto Public Library's current writer-in-residence Hal Niedzviecki, author and editor Ken Sparling and journalist Nicole Cohen.

Young writers will get a chance to workshop their writing, be part of an open mic session and get their writing published in an instant anthology.

Last year's conference was filled to capacity with well over 100 participants.
