Sex Crimes Unit

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault.

It has been reported that:

- on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at approximately 2 a.m., a 29-year-old woman was walking in the Danforth Avenue/Langford Avenue area,

- she was making her way home when she was approached from behind by a man,

- he threatened the victim and indicated that he was armed,

- he attempted to direct her to a secluded area,

- the victim struggled with the suspect and was able to break free and run away,

- the victim flagged down a passing motorist and police were contacted.

- the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as white, with a dark complexion, between 20 and 30, 5’10”, with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Women should continue to be aware of their surroundings.
