Toronto - On Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 8:30 a.m., members of the Law Enforcement community will kick off the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run on the grounds of the Ontario Police Memorial at QueensPark in Toronto. The runners will leave the memorial, run around QueensPark, and head south on University Avenue.
This is the third year for this event. It will see peace officers run a total of 460 km over three days, as they make their way to the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The run will coincide with the annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service being held in Ottawa on Sunday, September 30, 2007.
