The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public to a number of swarming-type robberies in and around the Ellesmere Road/Scarborough Golf Club Road area.

The robberies have occurred between Saturday, July 28, 2007 and Saturday, August 25, 2007, between 9 p.m. - midnight.

It is alleged that:

- a group of males swarm their victims and assault them,

- during the assault, demands are made for valuables and the victims are robbed,

- in one of the robberies, the victim was struck with an expandable baton,

- the suspects travel in large numbers and target victim(s) who are travelling alone or are in the company of one other person,

- some of the robberies have occurred while the victim was at a TTC bus stop.

Some victims have sustained minor injuries.

Members of the public should continue to be aware of their surroundings and use caution when travelling.
