Toronto - On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 3:50 p.m., police were called to Bluffer's Park for a drowning.  Officers arrived and located a 16-year-old boy in Lake Ontario.

It is alleged that:
- the victim and two friends were in an unsupervised portion of Lake Ontario, at Bluffer's Park,
- the boys were in waist-deep water, body surfing in one-metre-high waves,
- the victim was struck by a wave and disappeared under the water for a period of time,
- the victim's friends saw that he was in distress and carried him to shore where resuscitation efforts by lifeguards and paramedics failed.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
