The Toronto Police Service wants to alert the public about recent late−night robberies in Winston Churchill Park in the Spadina Avenue/St. Clair Avenue West area.
It is reported that:
− during the past week, victims were jogging or walking through the park,
− they were approached by a man who was carrying a flashlight and a handgun,
− the man confronted the victims by pointing a flashlight in their face,
− he demanded their belongings while he held a black handgun in his other hand.
The suspect is described as black, 25−30 years old, 5’10 − 6’, with stubble/beard on his face.
He had a deep voice and was wearing dark clothing.
Members of the public should continue to use caution when travelling alone.
