Toronto July 1, 2007 - Toronto Blue Jays RF Alex Rios has been named to the American league All-Star team for the upcoming 2007 All-Star game in San Francisco. Rios, 26 is batting .290 with 17 home runs and 45 RBI. He is among American League leaders in many offensive categories, ranking 4th in home runs (17), 5th in runs (58), 4th in total bases (169) and 5th in extra-base hits (39). The 17 home runs are the most by any American League right fielder.
RHP Roy Halladay has been named to the Final Vote ballot for the 78th All-Star game. Five select players (Jeremy Bonderman, Kelvim Escobar, Pat Neshek, Hideki Okajima) are on the ballot, where a fan vote will determine the final roster spot in each league.
