Community Mobilization

On Saturday, September 15, 2007 and Saturday, September 22, 2007, the Toronto Police

Service will be hosting its Community Mobilization Workshop in the second−floor auditorium at police headquarters.

The two−day course, formerly known as the Civilian Police College program, is designed to educate the community to help them better safeguard themselves and their property against criminal activity.

The sessions, which run each day from 8:30 a.m. − 4:30 p.m., provide 14 hours of in−depth instruction dealing with a variety of community programs the Service takes very seriously, such as the Crime Stoppers program.

Participants will also get a clearer understanding about the policing programs and municipal services that are readily available to them to help encourage partnership in preventing and solving community problems.

Anyone wishing to participate can find an application on the Toronto Police Service internet website at Click on Community Mobilization Workshop, under Programs, and scroll down to the heading, "Click here for an application program."

For further information, please contact Constable Lisa Grisolia at 416−808−7044 or Constable Claudine Thomas at 416−808−7033.

The next session is scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2007 and Sunday, November 18, 2007.
