Toronto - Children at the Kids CAN-BIKE Camp will be joined by Astrid de Vries, Deputy Consul General from the Netherlands, Usman Valiante of the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada, and other guests on a “bike hike” to the Toronto Islands.

(north side of Queen St. E., east of Broadview Ave., just past the rail overpass)
Meet at the ice rink at the back of the recreation centre.

Members of the media are invited to bring their bikes and helmets to join the kids for the ride to the ferry docks.

The Kids CAN-BIKE Camp provides children, between nine and 13 years of age, with an opportunity to develop and increase their cycling skills. More than 15 social service agencies and sponsors have joined together to provide 80 children with bikes, helmets, locks, backpacks and safety sashes during a one-week bike safety camp. Last year’s camp won an achievement award for excellence from the Ministry of Transportation in the category of Road Safety Partnerships
