Toronto - On Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., Chief William Blair will participate in the "Sirens for Life" blood donor challenge, at the Hospital for Sick Children, 555 University Avenue.

The Toronto Police Service is proud to be taking part in the upcoming event for Canadian

Blood Services, the ‘Sirens for Life’ blood donor challenge.

As part of Canadian Blood Services’ annual summer blood drive and new Partners for Life program, the goal is to collect 1,300 donations of whole blood from July 2, 2007 to September 3, 2007, and to sign up 40 or more police, fire and EMS departments across central Ontario as new Partners for Life members.

The Partners for Life program allows an organization like the Toronto Police Service to make a commitment to saving lives by donating blood as a team.

Uniformed police officers will be donating blood at this event in support of the challenge.
