The Toronto Police Service has charged a Public Health Inspector, employed by the City of Toronto, in connection with his duties.
It is alleged that:
− the accused conducted health inspections on a licensed bar/café during the period from Monday, July 23, 2007 to Wednesday, July 25, 2007,
− the accused offered to accept money in exchange for a lack of enforcement action and diversion of documents relating to enforcement action.
Kerry Wong, 42, has been charged with:
1) two counts of Municipal Corruption,
2) Breach of Trust by a Public Officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 2 p.m., room 301.
Police are requesting public assistance identifying any other individuals or businesses who might have information with respect to the accused’s activities.
