Toronto - For the first time ever, the Toronto Argonauts will wear a special third jersey in game action as the Boatmen take on East Division rivals the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. The jersey see the Argos return to their true “Double Blue” roots as the light blue jersey will be worn with the dark blue pants, representing the team’s Oxford and Cambridge heritage.
Replica third jerseys are on-sale exclusively at the TBJ store at Rogers Centre. Immediately following the game, which is presented by Steelback, 10 game-worn third jerseys will be auctioned off on E-BAY. The on-line auction, which will be running for 10 days, can be accessed by clicking here, with the minimum bids starting at $300.
Receiver Derrell “Mookie” Mitchell, an All-Time Argos nominee, hopes to make Argos history in his third jersey. Mookie is only 4 yards away from breaking Paul Masotti’s existing record of 8,772 receiving yards to become the Boatmen’s all-time leading receiver.
The festivities start at 5:00 p.m. with the Steelback Streetfest on Bremner Blvd. and continue with outdoor entertainment surrounding Rogers Centre. The pre-game party, featuring cheerleaders, prizes and more, is at Jack Astor's, 144 Front Street West. Fans will be able to vote for the All-Time Argos team via in-stadium ballots. Following the game, Boatmen supporters can turn in their ballots and head down to get some autographs during See You on the Field. The official post-game party is at Forget About It Supper Club, 325 King St. West, immediately following the game.
